What you should know about us
Authentic TM technique
The TM technique has been taught in Australia continuously since 1961. Beware of meditations claiming to be the same or similar to the TM technique. They are very different—and there is no evidence they provide the same benefits documented in the published research on the TM technique.
Certified TM teachers
The TM technique can only be taught by certified TM teachers in a course carefully personalised for each individual. All certified TM teachers have successfully completed a minimum 2860 hours of instruction including an intensive 5.5 month in-residence Teacher Training Course, and they maintain their certification through ongoing professional courses for TM teachers.
If you learn meditation from anyone who's not a certified TM teacher, you're not learning the authentic TM technique.
Personalised one on one instruction
All certified TM teachers provide personal one-on-one TM instruction—as well as group sessions to provide further instruction and to ensure your TM practice is easy and enjoyable, and you're gaining maximum benefit.
Non-profit
The TM technique is taught in Australia by Maharishi Foundation Australia Ltd, a non-profit, educational charity, along with our sister non-profit organisation, GMDO Ltd.
Our goal is to make the TM technique available to everyone. Each local TM Centre offers payment plans, and attempts to assist everyone to learn TM. For more information, contact your local TM teacher.
No owners or shareholders
There are no owners or shareholders. No board members or other individuals profit financially from the organization's programs.
40 TM centres and teaching locations in Australia
The TM course fee helps cover the operating costs of our 40 TM centres/locations and the national offices that serve them, in order to provide you instruction in and a lifetime follow up support with your TM technique.
Independent audit
The organisation's finances are audited annually by an independent audit firm.

- TM refresher courses, to strengthen your understanding of correct TM practice.

You'll be invited to advanced lectures, special events, group meditations, celebrations, online resources, and more.
Helping those in need
Part of your course fee goes to helping those in need learn the TM technique through our partnership with David Lynch Foundation Australia. More than 1,000,000 full TM Scholarships have been given to at-risk children, veterans, domestic violence victims, homeless people, and others in need globally through partnerships with the David Lynch Foundation USA and other non-profit organizations.
